My name is Karla Wilson-Buis. I am the owner and the cake designer for K-T Cakes. K and T is for my daughters, Kristian and Taylor. I took my first class when my children were born and I have been learning and growing in the art ever since.

I have been to many classes, seminars, conventions, competitions, and demonstrations around Indianapolis and Chicago over these past 15 years. There have been too many to count, but each brought back something worth learning.

As a Wilton Method Cake Decorating instructer, I have taught and mentored many of our local cake decorators. I really enjoy watching them grow in the art.

I was the first to demonstrate cake decorating and baking on the bi-monthly segments on the noon, although the noon news does no longer exhist, and the evening news on WTWO©.

If I tried to write out a detailed list of my experience in wedding artistry, it would be a long list. To sum it all up, I have been making wedding cakes almost 15 years, with a list of over 1200 wedding cakes completed.

I receive every reputable publication on wedding cakes available in the US and even some publications from Europe, where icing artistry is amazing. I also surf the net and chat with decorators from all over the country. There are always new techniques and new products being introduced to our world, and I work my hardest to stay on top of it.

I work with every reputable wedding vendor in the Wabash Valley, vist my Links page to view some of my vendors I work with, and they can help you with all other aspects of planning a wedding. From pictures to decorations to receptions they can help you with planning this special day in you life.

I live on the borders of Clay, Vigo, and Parke county. It is about 8 miles NW of Brazil, IN. The area is very rural. My husband wanted a farm to retire on and I wanted to make cakes. Now we have a small farm out back with a small bakery attahed to our home, although it is a completely seperate facility. We raise cows and chickens, and our pond is full of ducks and fish, and of course now farm is complete without our two loving dogs, Sasha and Bandit.

Now that my two daughters are teenagers, they help me a little in the shop. Kristian plans to attend Pastry school, and will apprentice with me in the shop and Taylor would like to take over the managment. My dream is that they one day take it over and move it to the city, building upon the foundation that I have worked on over the past 15 years.
